Poppenhuis Rendering includes a series of ceramic structures in three scale shifts. Rendered like three-dimensional drawings, they frame the space in between, the space within and the space without. Similar to the Dutch Cabinet Houses they represent, these pieces are both familiar and ambiguous– the forms and materials have multiple identities.

My approach strips away contents, stability and narrative tableaus, using a method of construction that suggests the repetitive, the decorative and the obsessive. This transition represents a new narrative that references a quest for beauty, but is riddled with imperfections.
